Today we are reviewing Blonyx Beta Alanine. Enjoy!
There are so many supplements out there these days. They all claim to do something great for your body or performance, but there are only a few that really stand out. There are only a few that you keep going back to, time after time…
In writing these supplement reviews it’s my mission to find those supplements that you keep going back to.
There’s nothing out there that’s going to give you ground breaking results over and over, but there are some supplements that are just a little better than the rest. They play the long game, and get you consistent results over time. And let’s be honest, that’s what we are really looking for, right…
When I was asked to give the new Blonyx Beta Alanine a try it was a no brainer. I believe that Blonyx is one of the best supplement companies out there, hands down.
This belief started with my Blonyx HMB+Creatine experience, and was re-confirmed with my interview of Blonyx CEO Rowen Minnion. The research and thought that goes into their products is second to none.

But now let’s get back to the focus here, Beta Alanine, the new product by Blonyx.
I’ve taken many products in the past with beta alanine in them. It’s very common to find in your typical pre workout concoction. But I had never taken beta alanine by itself, or heard of others taking it solo.
That being said, I had a feeling that if Blonyx was making a Beta Alanine product it must be for a reason…
What does Beta Alanine do
First off, beta alanine is essentially a form of the amino acid Alanine that can be found in our bodies. We can get beta alanine naturally by eating meats and fish, so it’s definitely not something completely foreign to our bodies.
What it does is increase carnosine levels in the muscles which will help to buffer lactic acid. If you have help buffering lactic acid, you will feel like you have more endurance capacity. So, essentially you’ll feel like you can go harder for a longer period of time before getting tired.
What happened when I took Beta Alanine
If you’ve ever done research on beta alanine you’ve surly heard of the beta alanine tingles. When you take beta alanine it’s common to feel a tingling sensation once it kicks in.
I had never had this sensation, and if you’ve read my blog at all, you know that I’ve taking a lot of supplements. Not one of them that included beta alanine had giving me the tingles.
So, I thought nothing of the beta alanine tingles when I took Blonyx Beta Alanine for the first time. In fact, I was surprised how the powder (or crystals) actually had a sweet taste to them, and wasn’t expecting to feel anything right away.
Knowing how pure Blonyx products are I should have been more cautious.
I took my first serving of Blonyx Beta Alanine right when I awoke in the morning with a few swigs of water then had some breakfast (eggs, bacon, and greens of course).
About a half hour after taking the supplement I started feeling itchy and tingly. My ears were so tingly that I had to take remove my ear buds (I like to listen to books in the morning).
At that point I was getting a little worried. I even went into the bathroom to take a look at my face in the mirror to check for hives. I’d never had an allergic reaction before, but I thought I might be having one.
I didn’t see anything alarming so I went about my day with a tingly face that latest for about 30-60 minutes, and finally went away.
Stupid me, it wasn’t until later that afternoon that it dawned on me that beta alanine gives you the tingles. I’d just taken a lot of different products that contained beta alanine and never experienced anything like that. Not even a little tingle.
Then I remembered that I was dealing with a company that only produces top quality products with top quality ingredients.
At that point I thought I might be in for a fun ride with this new Blonyx Beta Alanine.
My results with Blonyx Beta Alanine
I always like to preface that a supplement is only one part of a quality diet and exercise program, and I make sure to eat very clean, and get great exercise programing from Misfit Athletics.
That being said… the first time I noticed something strange was when doing a workout on the Airdyne. Traditionally the Airdyne crushes me. It’s a total body exhauster that I struggle through. But this time something was different. I had this strange feeling. I wasn’t getting as tired as I should have. I was going for 50 calories, and expecting to get through 15-20 calories before having that feeling of death and needing to slow down. But instead the feeling of death didn’t come. I can’t say that I felt good, but I didn’t have to slow down. I went on to crush the rest of the workout (50 cals on the bike, 30 HSPU, 100 wall balls) and consider it a great day.
Over the next few weeks of I had this same experience over and over. My endurance workouts were feeling better than usual, but I simply thought it was due to the training.
Once I ran out of the Blonyx Beta Alanine I had a feeling that it was doing good things for me, but I knew that I would need to stop taking it to see if there was any dip in my performance to really conclude that it worked.
Obviously this isn’t a scientific study here, and I am just going off of my journal and what I felt over the last 6 weeks (4 weeks on Beta Alanine and 2 off), but over the last two weeks I have not felt the same as when taking the Beta Alanine. When I dig into the endurance piece of a met-con it just hurts a little more than it did. And I don’t feel as good.
Conclusion
When I think back to all of the supplement reviews that I’ve done over the years the supplements that are the best are the ones that I end up paying for myself after the review is over. And with the CrossFit Open coming on strong I will definitely be buying another tub of the Blonyx Beta Alanine. Need I say more…
