The Christmas present buying season is upon us, and with so many of our family and friends turning into raving CrossFitters, I figured I’d help out.
Below is a detailed list of my CrossFit buyers guide for this Christmas season (things that I’ve personally used), as well as things that my CrossFit family told me I should include (things they’ve personally used).
Enjoy, and get that Christmas shopping done now, so you can spend the days leading up to Christmas in the gym, rather than the mall.
Shoes
Reebok CrossFit Nano 2.0’s ($109) – These are at the top of my list because they are…. well… awesome! Right now these are my favorite shoes to CrossFit in, and to wear with my jeans (I should buy another pair). The toe box is nice and big, so you can spread your toes, and the overall construction is up to CrossFit standards (meaning they don’t fall apart when you abuse them). If your CrossFitter hasn’t tried these, they must do so! You have a few cool options when buying these…
Where to buy –
Option 1 – If you’re in Seattle you can pick them up at Born to Run
Option 2 – Order them at RogueFitness.com to get free shipping
Option 3 – Design your own color of CrossFit Nano 2.0’s at Amazon.com
*if you’re going to design your own I would hurry up and order these if you want them before Christmas!
Reebok CrossFit Oly shoes ($149) – These are the most popular (and only) CrossFit lifting hybrid shoe on the market, and I only have good things to say about them (especially the charged green color!). They are very stable during lifting, but also comfortable when you have to do other CrossFit movements. In fact I think they are the best shoe I have for doing butterfly pull-ups due to their added weight. Like the Nano’s, you can get these custom designed from Reebok.

Option 2 – Design your own color of CrossFit Oly’s at amazon.com
Wrist Wraps
Strength Wraps ($25) – When doing lots, and lots of heavy cleans, snatches, and jerks it is paramount that CrossFitters protect their wrists. I’ve found that Strength Wraps are my favorite wrist protection (read review here) because of their superior material, and area of protection. You can also get them in a bunch of different cool colors, and styles.

Socks
Knee High Socks – These old school knee high socks have become quite the fashion statement in the CrossFit trenches. The cool thing is they don’t only look rediculously awesome, but they also have function. Crazy, right?! They protect your shins from deadlift (and deadlift like) movements, and keep you from getting rope burn during rope climbs. And you can show the world how much you love things like “meat”! Basically everyone needs these!
Where to buy – Amazon.com / Reebok / Hylete
T’s & Tanks
Life AsRx Tanks ($27) – I love Life as RX razerback burnout tanks b/c they aren’t too tight and breath really well.
-Allison McGee of Mercer Island CrossFit
Where to buy – LifeAsRx.com
HipFit Tanks ($25) – When they have graphics the say “this is why I squat” with an arrow pointing down, how can you not love these? Actually these were recommend by Erika Navarro of StoneWay CrossFit. They also have some pretty sweet T’s and Tanks for guys.

Hoodies
HYLETE Hoodie ($60) – For whatever reason awesome hoodies have been hard for me to find over the years. This Hylete Hoodie is unique in that it is fitted for the athletic body type.

Shorts
HYLETE Compete 1.0 Shorts ($60) – If you’re looking for a competition ready pair of CrossFit shorts, look no further. The Hylete shorts are comfy, and have nothing that can get in the way of finishing your workout as fast as possible (read my review here). Not even the draw string… Unfortunately I can’t say that I have experience with the women’s shorts.

Rogue Fight Shorts ($45) – Rogue has taken the lead as the top CrossFit equipment vendor, but they also have some legit clothing! These Rogue Fight Shorts are top of the line training shorts that can take some major abuse.
Where to buy – RogueFitness.com
2 Pood Flex WOD Shorts ($15-37) – This are the shorts of choice for the women at my gym. They look (and apparently feel) AWESOME!…

Pants
Under Amour Storm Pants ($60) – If you need to stay warm while working out, Under Armour is the way to go. These Storm Pants are great for a cold weather workout, or lounging. I’ve used Under Armour pants for everything from CrossFit WODs to muddy trail marathons. They keep you warm!
Where to buy – Amazon.com/mens / Amazon.com/womens
Lululemon pants ($108-128) – I’ve said for years that I won’t buy Lululemon gear for myself, but I will sure as heck wear it if someone else buys it for me. Their pants are the most comfortable thing I’ve ever put on my legs. And they make ladies lower half’s look so good that every women should have a closet full of them!

Jump Ropes
Jump Ropes ($15-35) – The beauty of the jump rope is that it can give you a killer workout just about anywhere, and it can fit in your bag when you go just about anywhere. Every CrossFitter should have their own jump rope. It doesn’t have to be the most expensive jump rope, but it should be theirs.
Where to buy – RogueFitness.com (I like the Rx & Ultra Speed Cable ropes)
Barbells & Plates
Rogue Bumper Plates & Barbells ($…) – This is for the CrossFitter that wants to create their own gym. Maybe in an extra room or garage. It can also be the most expensive of the gifts on this list. You can spend thousands of dollars setting up an amazing home CrossFit gym, or spend a couple hundred on a barbell and some bumper weights to get things started. Either way the recipient will be stoked!

Supplements
Protein for recovery – Progenex Recovery ($60)
This is still the best post workout protein powder that I’ve taken. I simply feel more recovered for my next workout. Whereas I feel nothing when taking other protein powders.
Meal replacement protein – MusclePharm Combat Powder ($40)
This is what I take for times other than post workout. I’ll keep some of this in my car (or bag) for when I need a meal replacement on the run.
Pre-Workout – Pump-HD ($32)
If you need to get focused and ready for your workout, and don’t like coffee, give this a try. It works!
Multi-Vitamin – MVP 365 ($26)
The honest truth is… it’s questionable as to wether we really need multi-vitamins, if we’re eating well rounded diets. But… if you’re going to take a multi-vitamin, MVP is where it’s at. I take it religiously!
Soreness relief – Glutamine powder ($11-34)
Do you like being sore? If so, stop reading! Glutamine makes me about half as sore from tough WOD’s, and I don’t ever get sick…
Get bigger & stronger – Micronized Creatine Monohydrate ($10-24)
If you want a supplement that will help you build muscle, there’s nothing better (or safer) than creatine. And I’ve found that the best creatine is the good ol’ monohydrate with a micronized twist (reduces stomach cramping).
