Not only are cricket proteins tasty, but if we eat more of them we will be helping out our world.
When we live in a world that constantly talks about not having enough water, and we can shift our protein consumption to assist in maintaining that water balance, why not run in that direction…
Not only that, but when comparing crickets to cattle, they produce much more protein per gram, create 80 times less methane, and need 6 times less feed.

The EXO Cricket Protein Bars
I was fortunate enough to have EXO send me a box of their cricket protein bars, and not only that… they sent me a variety box. So I was able to try the Cacao Nut, Blueberry Vanilla, Peanut Butter & Jelly, and Apple Cinnamon flavors.
What do these buggers taste like…
These cricket protein bars are good! I did a little research and found that cricket flour has a bit of a nutty flavor. But the truth is you wouldn’t be able to identify anything weird about the cricket protein bars.
The flavors are good with the Apple Cinnamon being my favorite of the bunch. And I can say that I didn’t dislike any of the flavors.
The nutrition facts
When looking into a new protein bar the nutrition fact are the most important part for me. And looking into the cricket protein bars I was happy to find they have some pretty good ingredients.
The first thing I look at on the nutrition facts is the ingredients, and almonds being first is a great thing. Next I scan the list of ingredients for anything that is unnatural or has a lot of sugar. The cricket protein bars have quite a bit of sugar that comes from fruit. This doesn’t scare me due to the high amount of fiber, but I would make sure that I eat the bars after my workout rather than before.
These bars definitely check out as a good protein bar.
I actually ended up giving away about 4 of the cricket protein bars because my friends kept asking to try them. I can’t say that I blame them. And every one of them was excited about how they tasted.
Conclusion
I give the EXO Cricket Protein Bars a HUGE thumbs up as a meal replacement solution, and highly recommend that you add them as your preferred protein bar.
