A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided.

This week we have a very real write up from Beth about pain, and the complications of being overweight. I’ll let Beth take it from here…
“My body is feeling great these days. It dawned on my the other day that a bunch of things that used to bother me everyday, all day, don’t anymore.
My feet killed for awhile after I had the kids and it just got worse and worse when I gained weight, my knees where the same. I also used to have hip and lower back pain mostly when I slept at night and totally stiff in the morning. It got to a point that I couldn’t even cross my legs (like a guy would sit) so I couldn’t put my socks or shoes on that way. Oh my god, as I write this I think of how pathetic all of this was at the age of 35…wow!
Now I don’t have any feet, knee or back pain. I sleep so much better and no pain while laying down. I can even flip and flop in bed with total ease. When I wake up, I jump right out of bed and just go. The other big thing is that I am so much more flexible putting socks, shoes, clothes on etc and I can get up and down on the floor without looking awful. I was really concerned about being in classes with the girls or at nursery school with them and not being able to get up off the ground without help. That would be completely devastating!! I still have worries about the way it looks now but I can at least do it on my own. The only thing I feel these days is soreness from a good crossfit or running workout and that is a good thing!
The general worries about being obese are not holding me back as much these days but I am also very much aware that I am far far away from not being obese and the reality is these concerns are still a reality…it’s just that now I am getting more confident with things and not being held back by fear.
These are very personal thoughts and not easy to share because they are pretty embarrassing, but I like to share this with you because it helps me grow and get better and it gives you a look into what a person in my situation feels and worries about. I also don’t mind putting myself out there and sharing these thoughts with the world on your blog because it may touch someone out there and help them. This is important to me to reach others that are feeling like I did or do.”
