Barriers to overcome for doing fitness anywhere…
Before the virus hit we would compartmentalize the places that we did things. Like going to the office to do work, and going to the gym to workout. But now (or at least for now) that’s all changed. And you have to come up with ways to break down the barriers that you’ve set for yourself.
Environment
Create an environment that feels like a place to workout. For me this has been putting out a towel or gym mat. That sets the stage for feeling comfortable working out in a campground or Starbucks parking lot.
For you this could be your basement, garage, yard or spare bedroom. And put out your mat and dumbbells (or the equipment that you have).
Follow a program (paid)
Follow a program that will hold you accountable. There are tons of free programs out there, but will any of them motivate you to do a workout and record your scores to show that you’ve done so?
Create a calendar event
Schedule your workout time in your calendar. Make it important to your day.
