Dear Athlete (yes you’re an athlete),
Ever feel like going to the gym is a waste of time?
Over the last few years, I’ve met great people… had some amazing fitness adventures… done some races (an Ironman or two)… and it’s been a blast !
Although I went to the gym for years, and had some great results, I wish I would have been smart enough to skip it. In the end, I feel it disciplined me into believing that I needed to spend hours in the weight room and on the treadmill to get any good results.
I can’t help but think about where I’d be today if somebody brought CrossFit to me at the age of 19 when I started working out.
The Problem: Fitness & Nutrition Education in the US Sucks
If you aren’t doing something like bodybuilding or figure competitions. I’m talking serious (usually unhealthy) stuff – spending hours in the gym is a complete waste of your time.
You can get all the results you ever wanted in less than half the time, at-home. Sure, it will be hard. With each workout, you will get stronger. And with the right approach, you will get the results you want.
Looking back, I sometimes wish I had someone to show me the way.
I feel like fitness and nutrition education is severely limited. And you never know what to believe.
Most people just go to the gym, or worse… do nothing. And never get the education they need.
Aside from magazines, or paying for high priced trainers, what can you do?
You can read books, sign up for blogs, ask your friends. You can go out and test things for yourself. This takes forever! I know…
You can even try to make friends with someone who knows the secrets about what really works. Maybe they’ll let you workout with them, and pick their brain.
