This email is coming to you from a campsite down the road from the Mount Bachelor Ski/MTB area. We are hoping to ride bikes today, but it looks like it could be cold rain or snow… Hmmm.
Here’s what I found fun, interesting, or noteworthy this week…
Our first (and second) Canada MTB videos are LIVE –
WE FINALLY MADE IT TO CANADA for Our Mountain Biking Adventure!!
We’ve been talking about this trip for over a year, and it feels so good to start getting the content out so you can see it.
Canada is so amazing for its mountain biking, people, and food!
Get with your goal setting friends –
You might be tired of hearing me talk about goal setting, and setting big goals, but if you aren’t doing it… YOU NEED TO START!! And if you are doing it… I’m sure it’s fuel for your fire :-).
We just passed through Mount Shasta to hang out with our friends Scott and Katie (who own StoneWay Athletics). If you’re in the area you should definitely stop in for a class!
These are the type of people that you want to be friends with! They are setting big goals, making plans, and making decisions based on those goals and plans. All without worrying about what the social norms are or what others think. It’s fantastic!
The point here is that if you are having trouble setting big goals for yourself, try finding friends that are doing big things and help them achieve their goals to see what it’s like and stoke the fire of your own goals.
Helping others achieve their goals doesn’t take away from your goals at all. It can actually supercharge them!
Our favorite MTB trails in Tahoe/Truckee (so far) –
Thus far we definitely haven’t ridden anywhere close to all of the trails in the area, and will 100% be back for more.
The trails that we have ridden were chosen based on recommendations from other riders that love enduro and downhill style riding, and these are our favorites…
- Armstrong Connector to Corral Trail
- Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride
- Jellystone (hidden)
- Donkey Town Trail
- Northstar Bike Park (everything was fun)
Also, a shoutout to Joe with the Wanna Ride Tahoe Bike Shuttle! If you aren’t feeling like doing the WHOLE climb or don’t have the whole day to ride one of the longer Tahoe trails give them a call/email. Joe can also give you some suggestions if you aren’t sure what to ride, he’s very knowledgeable!

That’s what I have for you this week. Hopefully I’ll be able to tell you all about how rad the Bachelor Bike Park is on next week’s email. We are also headed to the Bend OR Adventure Van Expo this weekend with Momentum Vans, so that should be exciting!
Let me know if you need anything!
Cheers!
Joe
