This edition of Feel Good Friday is coming to you from Buena Vista Colorado where we were holding up for the night before deciding where to head next (looking for a snow storm). Right now it’s looking like Salt Lake mountains will have the next storm.
Here’s what I found fun, interesting, or noteworthy this week.

My latest podcast –
AAJ 234: SteadyMD Online Doctors with Dani Urcuyo (redux)
This is a replay of (what I think is a fantastic) podcast that I did with Dr. Dani Urcuyo of SteadyMD. Where we talk about how online doctors can keep you healthier than our old traditional way of going in to the office to see your doc.
If you haven’t listened to this one, I would highly recommend it!
What I’m reading –
Running with Sherman: The Donkey with the Heart of a Hero by Christopher McDougall
Christopher McDougall is the writer of the fantastic book called Born to Run, and Running with Sherman was highly recommended to me by multiple people before I picked it up.
If you like inspirational books about humans and animals overcoming adversity… you’ll love this book!
A fun side note is that a lot of this book takes place in Leadville Colorado, and we are only a few miles from Leadville right now! AND Leadville is the site of my 40th birthday trail marathon celebration in June!
Top adventure this week –
We hiked up and ran down one of the tallest sand dunes in Great Sand Dunes National Park. You can see a fantastic picture of me hiking up this beast here.
February Get Better Project Challenge –
For the month of December the challenge was to complete 25 burpees each day. In the month of January the challenge was to complete 1 round of Leg Blasters each day. For the next challenge, the challenge starting February 1st is…
Each and every day in the month of February complete 2 minutes of static planks on your elbows and toes.
IF you want to earn yourself a piece of free Get Better Project swag… all you have to do is complete the challenge each day and post that you’ve completed it each day on one of your social media channels tagging The Get Better Project. It looks like this… “Day 1 – Planks complete @getbetterproject”.
Lastly, for your information, the plank has been shown to be the MOST effective way to train your abs. Far more effective than any stile of crunch than you can imagine. So, you’re welcome!
——-
That’s what I have for you this week. If you have any questions about the February Challenge, or anything else… let me know!
Cheers,
Joe
