Hi!
Here’s what I’ve found cool, fun, interesting, or thoughtful this week.
My latest podcast –
AAJ 106: Best Diet for You, to Sleep or Workout, Fasting & CrossFit
This comes from listener questions that were submitted on my Facebook page. And you can do the same, if you have questions.
What I’m watching –
I must have been in the dark through the last Olympic Games, because I didn’t hear hardly anything about the Russian’s almost getting kicked out of the Games. Anyway, the movie Icarus is a super interesting documentary that digs DEEP into the Russian doping allegations.
It’s also interesting because you get a sense of how easy it can be to beat PED doping tests.
What I’m studying (and thinking of trying) –
Info on ketone supplementation. Now, I’m not going to be going on a ketosis diet anytime soon, but I have been reading about how supplemental ketones can give you more energy, clearer thoughts, and a sense of euphoria.
And, the more I dig, the more positive info that I’m finding. I will keep you posted!
My top Instagram post –
#FBF to the my first ever triathlon. It was a kayak – road bike – trail run in upstate New York, and super fun!
What I’ve been pondering –
Focus. And specifically what we spend our time focussing on. I recently noticed that I can easily go down the road of focussing on negative, past situations.
I would literally spend hours thinking about these situations, and what I realized is that it not only didn’t do me any good, but it also didn’t make me feel good. I was literally reliving negative past situations, over and over.
Now that I’ve started to really focus on what I’m thinking about, I’ve been able to direct my focus to things that I’m grateful for.
Here’s an example: I’m driving into Seattle. So, you know there’s a TON of traffic, because there’s aways a ton of traffic in Seattle.
In this situation, I can focus on the traffic, and be all pissed about how I’m going to be late for my appointment.
OR I could focus on the fact that I’m driving a sweet car, and I’m in a great place financially, and how I have really awesome family and friends around me.
When I focus on that, I physically feel good. It’s quite awesome! Try it, do it, go deep!
