Hi!
This email is coming to you from Telluride CO, where I will say… the Northeastern colors don’t have nothing on this place! The green and yellows are on FIRE with 14,000 foot mountains looming. While driving 7 MPH down Main Street (yes, that’s the speed limit), you literally have to watch for people stepping into the street to take pictures because they are mesmerized by the setting.
Here’s what I found fun, interesting, or noteworthy this week….

What I’m snacking on –
Huppy Bars website
Believe it or not but it’s been hard to find a good nutrition bar to take on high output adventures (like trail running and mountain biking). Our go-toes to have ClifBars and ClifBlocks, but both have too much sugar unless we are just cranking for hours.
And although these Huppy Bars aren’t perfect, they do have a lot of good stuff in them, and we’ve found them to be very digestible during intense activities.
Trail shoes that I’m LOVING –
I’ve been wearing Altra trail running shoes for years, with the Superior’s being my favorite for a long time! But after running a few hundred miles on the Altra Superior 4’s, and really liking them but feeling like they decrease some of the padding that was good for super rocky trails… I decided to try on the new Lone Peak’s.
And I can tell you that after taking about 4 steps in the new Lone Peaks I knew they were the ones! They’ve taken on the shape and feel of the Superior 3’s, and I LOVE them!!!
Side note: these shoes are GREAT for people with wider feet, who like to spread their toes out (like they should be).
Also, Altra tends to change their sizing around year to year, so (unfortunately) you need to try them on before ordering (or be ready to play the return game to get the sizing right).

That’s what I have for you this week. If you have any fitness or nutrition questions at all… LET ME KNOW!!!
Cheers,
Joe
PS make sure that you sign up to get this Feel Good Friday in your email each… Friday, because I include a special Top Adventure section to the email. As you know (maybe) I’ve been living in a Sprinter van for the last few years traveling full time, and adventuring like crazy!
