I’m writing this email from the beach in town of Riomaggiore of the Cinque Terre’s in Italy.
But before you get too jealous… this is one of my least favorite ways to spend a day. I’d much rather be hiking up a mountain or hitting the gym. Which is why I’m spending this time writing to you!

Running is an essential life movement, and unfortunately so many people hurt themselves while doing it. And for really silly reasons.
So, here are a few very simple things that you can do to avoid running injuries, if you’re a first timer, or a marathoner (yes, most marathoners are setting themselves up for injuries).

The trails that link the Cinque Terre
Even if the main Cinque Terre trail near the water is closed (as it is now), there are many other trails through the hills that provide stunning mountain, ocean, and mountainside town views. And they drop you into all of the Cinque Terre’s where you can gorge on world class seafood, breads, and pastries.
One of the coolest things about doing (hiking or running) this trail is you burn so many calories that you can’t possibly eat more than you burn. It’s like hiking through the cascade mountains and having a handful of world class restaurants pop up every 3-5 miles. Amazing!
What I’m reading –
The Only Language They Understand by Nathan Thrall
This book talks about the history of the conflict that’s going on between Palestine and Israel.
After seeing this religious mess first hand, I needed to try to further my understanding, and this book was highly recommended by someone that works both sides of the conflict.
This is so messed up and I’m doing my best to understand why. The jury is still out.
