This email is coming to you from Thump Coffee in Bend Oregon, where we’ve spent the last week drinking coffee and riding mountain bikes ;-).
Here are all the details about what I found fun, interesting, or noteworthy this week.

Latest mountain biking video –
Mountain Biking Upper & Lower Drain – Bear Basin – McCall Idaho
This is another amazing trail system (Bear Basin) in McCall Idaho that I highly recommend for anyone who likes riding mountain bikes!
Doing hard things and failing –
Unfortunately we seem to live in this “failing is bad” society, but every single successful person that I know (and study) says exactly the opposite. They say that you need to fail, learn from it, and keep failing until you reach the goals you desire.
For example, I’m VERY interested in being able to run medium sized mountain bike jump lines, and I SUCK at jumping (it just doesn’t come naturally to me). But when I hit a jump well it’s the best feeling possible on a mountain bike.
In my quest to become good at jumping I’ve taken some crashes (some of which I’ve had on video for you). My mountain bike coach says, “it’s not if you’ll crash, but when you’ll crash”. And you have to be able to mentally recognize the fear of failing (or crashing), but keep hitting the jumps.
You can take this knowledge and apply it to pretty much anything in life. I know people that aren’t in the relationship they want because they are scared to ask out girls/guys. I know people that don’t love their jobs, but are too scared to keep trying different things. I know (lots) of people that don’t start our workout program because they are scared of not being able to do it, or feeling sore, or having to report to a coach. I have failed at working out more than anything in my life, and that is definitely my most successful activity.
If you’re living in this bubble… pop that thing! And start failing towards awesomeness!
What we are eating and loving –
Sheet Pan Chicken Pitas with Tzatziki
My brother-in-law (Michael) made this for us a few days back, and it was DELICIOUS!!! The really cool thing is you can make it to your diet preference by doing it without dairy or gluten really easily. Enjoy!

That’s what I have for you this week. If you need anything at all… let me know!
Cheers!
