We’re still in Taos, New Mexico, and it’s getting COLD—down to 24 degrees last night! Not exactly cozy, but we’re hanging around to hit a 20+ mile MTB shuttle from Angel Fire to Taos this morning.
Here’s what’s been fun, interesting, or just plain noteworthy this week…
SUPER MTB Shuttle Pass –
The Loam Pass is basically a mountain biker’s version of the EPIC or IKON ski pass. You pay upfront and get access to a ton of locations.
With the Loam Pass, you get 2 days of lift access or shuttles at bike parks and trails across the US and Canada, plus perks and discounts—and they keep adding new spots!
We picked up the Loam Pass, and it’s already covered almost 3/4 of its cost just from riding at Angel Fire Bike Park last weekend. Today’s shuttle ride will add to that. Right now, the Loam Pass is just $220 for the 2025 season, and with lift tickets typically $20–$70 a day, it makes a lot of sense if there are participating parks or shuttles near you.
Pretty rad, right? We can only hope Loam Pass keeps growing to be more like the big ski passes.
Also, shoutout to Loam Pass customer service—they’ve been super helpful.
Mountain Bike Drivetrain Discovery –
For my MTB friends: Shimano and SRAM drivetrain parts are interchangeable!
Last week, my Shimano XT derailleur seized up—right before a bike park day. Couldn’t fix it with the tools in the van, but I had a spare SRAM GX derailleur on hand, so I clamped it on. It’s been working great ever since!
I actually think I prefer the Shimano shifter with the SRAM GX derailleur; it feels smoother.
Stretch Goals for YouTube and YOU –
I know you’ve been eagerly waiting for our next YouTube video drop. I’ve been working with my coach to level up my editing skills, and after a lot of practice, I’ve got a big stretch goal: I’m aiming to get all 5 Madeira videos dropping December!
Right now, I’ve finished about 1.5 videos and plan to tackle the other 3.5 over the next four weeks. It’s a big push, but I’m excited! I can’t guarantee I’ll make the deadline, but I’m definitely giving it everything I’ve got.
How about you? Are you working on any stretch goals in your life right now that feel ambitious but would be huge if you pulled them off?

That’s it for this week. Go push yourself this weekend, and maybe pull some family or friends along too!
Cheers!
