This email is coming to you from Cumberland BC (Vancouver Island). It’s a little town full of mountain bike enthusiasts!
We are only getting out to ride for the first time as soon as I’m done writing this, so I’m sure I’ll have more to say about the trails next week :-).
Here’s what I found fun, interesting, or noteworthy this week…
Possibly the coolest thing about mountain biking –
*Even if you don’t mountain bike this is worth noting!
Well, I definitely think the mountain biking is the coolest thing about mountain biking, BUT I’m pretty sure the far and away second coolest thing about mountain biking is the people you meet in the bike shops.
We’ve met the raddest people all over the country in mountain bike shops. People that we’ve kept in touch with for years after randomly meeting them.
And this reigns true in Canada as well (as if it would be different). We just met a mechanic (named Radney. RAD-ney), who we chatted with for 20+ mins right after walking into the bike shop. The funny thing is that this is not unusual. The people in the mountain biking community are so enthusiastic and welcoming that (I think) it would be worth getting into the sport just for the people you meet.
Workout of the week –
I especially like this one because it’s so simple and touches every part of your body. In fact, I’d recommend a rest day after doing it (unless you’re going on a jog or ride).
10 rounds for time:
10 double DB snatches
23 burpees
*The weight for the snatches should be heavy enough that are aren’t able to pick it up and do it unbroken right after finishing your burpees. I used 50lb DB’s and it took me 30+ mins. #yourwelcome
Hit me up if you need a warm up for this one. It’s rocking good!
Our latest YouTube video –
FEATURE PACKED MTB Trail System here in Port Gamble WA!!!
This little trail system has had some serious thought and work put into it. If you like raw PNW loam or huge jumps… they got you covered! Check out the video!

That’s what I have for you this week. HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!! And let me know if you need anything.
Cheers!
