This email is coming to you from Kauai and our last day in the warm sunny weather for a while. Next up is some family time and then chasing the white stuff!
Here’s what I found fun, interesting, or noteworthy this week…

What I’m watching this weekend –
The Dubai CrossFit Championship on YouTube
The last few years (other than last year) the Dubai CrossFit Championship has hosted some of the best athletes in the world, put them through some of the most grueling events, and offered some of the biggest prize money.
It’s a good combination for some entertaining fitness and inspiration!
What I’m eating and loving –
If you ever come to Kauai (and like poke) I highly recommend checking out the Fish Market. It’s so fresh and delicious!
There can be a line, but it’s totally worth the wait!
Thought I’ve been pondering –
Program hard things into your life regularly
While we are doing hard things it often times isn’t fun. For example, I wouldn’t say that I like doing thrusters. But if I am doing them all the time they get a lot easier, and I enjoy them more.
The same with learning a new piece of technology. I’ve been playing with Adobe Illustrator so I can quickly make changes to logos without having to hire a designer to help me out. At first it was so foreign and frustrating that I’d rather be banging my head against the wall. But our minds/bodies are amazing things, if you challenge them, they adapt. After a two sessions of having no idea what I was doing with Illustrator, something clicked, and the third time… I don’t know why, or how, but it clicked and I was able to start figuring things out.
So, what I’m suggesting is that you program these hard (and sometimes frustrating) things into your weekly plans, and you just might be amazed at what you can learn, figure out, or adapt to!
