This email is coming to you from a top 5 campsite that we found outside of Steamboat Springs Colorado. We are way up a dirt road that you’d most likely want high clearance to drive up, and right in the middle of a fun mountain bike trail system. Oh, and the views are outstanding!!
Here’s what I found fun, interesting, or noteworthy this week…

Our StarLink RV Internet Review is LIVE –
Yep, yep, and yep, I finally got the StarLink review all put together. It’s called the StarLink RV review, but there’s nothing different about the StarLink RV and the StarLink for your home. Just subscription differences, and in your home area you get priority during high traffic times.
Checkout the video if you like the idea of internet anywhere (except under trees or other objects), and let me know if you have questions. This thing is amazing!!
In fact, I’m getting blazing fast internet from our StarLink right now at 9,000 feet on top of a mountain! #boom
Tips for thinking about food –
Protein, fat, then carbs
EVERY single time you eat (except on your birthday or other fun cheat day times), you NEED to train your mind to think about food in this order. This is the order of importance for your eating. I am not joking. Even for vegans and vegetarians.
Every single meal, feeding, snack, everything, this is how your mind should function around food.
Where is the protein. Could be animal protein, could be veggie protein, it don’t matter!
What is the fat source, and how much am I getting. Fats have over twice as many calories as protein and carbs, so you need to be aware of how much you’re eating. I’m not talking pin point accuracy, but be in the ballpark.
Do I need energy for movement, and if I do, what kind of movement will I be doing. Fast burning carbs give you fast energy for movement OR fast body fat storage. Slow carbs give you more sustained energy, and far less chance of storing body fat.
If you have kids, teaching them to think of food this way will make their lives so much easier. You learn it, then teach it. And we will all feel better, and be less fat!

MTB product that I’m gushing about –
EVOC Hip Pack Pro 3 with 1.5 liter bladder (Amazon)
Ok, so, I did some research around which mountain bike (MTB) hip pack I should review for our YouTube channel a couple months ago. And ever since I’ve been searching every bike shop that we come across for this darn pack! No joke, we’ve probably been to 20+ bike shops looking for this pack. I tried to send it to an Amazon locker, but for some reason they wouldn’t do it…
Anyway, I was feeling like I was never going to find this EVOC hip pack at a bike shop. BUT it was randomly was carried by a place outside of Aspen Colorado next to the Whole Foods that we have spent hours working at. Technically working out side of Whole Foods, but none the less.
Sorry for that long story, but YAY!! I’m stoked!
The cool thing about this pack is that it has a thick velcro waist strap that makes it super comfy. It also has a 1.5 liter bladder AND pockets for 2 water bottles! This is super cool because a lot of times you want to carry water and an electrolyte mix, but you don’t want your electrolyte mix in your bladder. Win, win!
So, I’m going to do a full video review on this pack, but if you are a mountain biker, and want a great hip pack, I’d probably look into it right now!

Another long winded email today. I got a bunch of positive feedback about the flying nutrition info I gave a few weeks back, so I’m going to put more real life health, fitness, nutrition, training info in these. FYI, that tip about how to think about food above is SUPER legit. You have no idea! You get that right, and you are 90% there!
Alright, have a GREAT weekend, and let me know if you need anything.
Cheers!
Joe
