This email is coming to you from our AirBnB in Nice France. We are up on a hill with peekaboo views of the ocean and a nice grassy terrace with palm trees and flowers surrounding.
Here’s what I’ve found fun, interesting, or noteworthy this week…

The French pace of life –
I’m the type of person that can feel the energy of a place (and even more so of people), and I think that if you never get out of your “normal” area you can get swept into thinking that’s just how the world is. But through travel I feel like that couldn’t be farther from the truth!
Nice has a laid-back feel to it, where the people aren’t in a hurry. And you can feel it from their energy.
They take walks for enjoyment. They have picnics in the park. They enjoy meals together without rushing to the next thing as soon as the meal is done. This isn’t done in a lazy way at all, it’s more of an attitude (if you need to label it). And I find myself wondering if France has less people with high blood pressure and anxiety than the US. It seems likely.
It’s really refreshing!
If you’ve felt this in a place… I’d love to hear about it. Hit reply and let me know.
New YouTube Video –
Red Mountain Rush: Exploring Hawes Trail System in Phoenix/Mesa, Arizona! ?????
A quick stop in Phoenix for a fun ride before our first South America video (that I’m editing right now).
Fitness while traveling –
Bands and Parks
You might be surprised how you can still improve your fitness while traveling (not in a van). But I will admit that it’s not as easy as grabbing our dumbbells from that back of the van and getting it done.
On this trip we brought our single set of Rogue Monster bands (they give more resistance than the Amazon bands), and have sought out those fitness parks that you see around foreign cities. In the US you might have to look for playgrounds, which are usually just as good.
One of the cool things about fitness parks is that you usually have a solid walk or run to get to (and from) them, and when you are there working out it’s exactly like being at an outdoor gym. At least in Europe this is a totally normal thing to do. Weird, right?! 😉
With these small things it’s been very easy to follow the Get Better Project program and get some great workouts. We’ve actually been pretty darn sore most of the time!
ALSO… don’t worry we are sampling ALL of the French pastries, breads, and cheese we can find! 😉

That’s what I have for you this week. Next week we will be off to our next destination, Molini Italy. Where we will be back on the bikes for some epic downhill rides. Stay tuned!
Cheers!
