Snowboarding 2 days in a row was a blast and I wouldn’t have been able to play as hard as I did if I wasn’t used to beating up my body with constantly varied movements, times, and intensities (aka CrossFit). Both days I snowboarded HARD for around 6 hours and didn’t feel tired until the last few runs. If you can fill your pockets up with nuts and some good bars (I like Lara bars that you can get at any Safeway) and you’ll have a solid stream of nutrients all day long! I usually snack on nuts or bars every 2nd or 3rd chair lift ride.
With something like snowboarding or any other activity it’s amazing how your body will make improvements and all you have to do is go out an enjoy what you’re doing. At the end of the day I was thinking back to the first day of the season and how much improvement I’ve made. Where on the first day I was taking my time to ride through tight uneven sections and only getting a little air off of jumps I’m not flying through very tough sections and flying off of just about any jump I can get my board on! If you haven’t experienced the sport of skiing or snowboarding I highly suggest that you get to trying it ASAP! I don’t know of anything that feels like floating down a snow covered mountain on fluffy powdery snow!
I also wanted to make a quick note about money and living :-)! I got a note from an awesome friend on Facebook asking if I ever work in response to me posting that I was snowboarding for the 2nd day in a row. Now this is a passion subject for me so watch out! There are a couple of ways I can take this… The first way is that everyone these days has a personal brand that they’re publishing to social media everyday, and I believe if you’ve set your life up correctly then all of your activities support that personal brand. For example me going snowboarding and posting awesome photos and videos and updates about having fun snowboarding to motivate people to go out and get active and have fun themselves should help me build my personal brand, and make people want to work with me in any of my businesses (fitness coaching, internet marketing, or real estate). And the truth is that if I’m not connecting with people on that level then I probably don’t want to do business with them anyway. The other way that I can take this is in the time and money direction, and how if you do a little research up front doing amazing things usually don’t cost too much at all! I paid $300 at the start of the snowboarding season to snowboard as many times as I want to between Monday and Friday (plus some weekends) for the WHOLE season!!!! So for example I went snowboarding twice last week and I have the ability to work on Saturday (now) and Sunday to make up for that if I want to… If you feel like you’re trapped into a lifestyle that isn’t what you want, but you feel like it’s what everyone else is doing then you should stop and find people that are doing things away from the majority! Then ask those people to help you find a new direction. I’m happy to help people find that new direction. You just have to ask! Some great books to provoke thought in this direction are The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss and Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuk!
