Dropping Grains
Where to start:
This is where most people get stuck. They want to lose weight, but there are literally too many options to choose from.
Should I do the Zone diet, or South Beach, or Paleo, or Primal, or the new magazine diet, or the diet my friend Sally told me about, or the juicing diet.
I understand, it’s all craziness out there.
I’m here to tell you exactly what has worked for me, my clients, family, and friends – for years!
This is going to be a 4 post series on how to get 10 pounds of fat to literally fly off your body. No joke, the fat will be dropping away once you apply these rules.
And I don’t know about you, but I HATE diets, so this isn’t a diet.
I’m just going to teach you how to eat. These are the secrets that should be shared with our kids from an early age, but only the people who have stumbled upon this lifestyle have figured out what the key secrets are and how to use them.
So what’s the first step?
This is the something the food manufactures have been trying to hide from you for years, and years. And they are fighting to keep you from knowing this today.
This step is actually really easy. And it might even shock you. I couldn’t believe it when I first heard it.
The secret that food manufacture don’t want you to know, and that will start the fat melting off of your body (you won’t believe how fast), is… grains are keeping you fat.
But grains are heart healthy, right?
But grains have fiber, right?
But the media has been telling us to eat grains for years… they care about our health, right?
What do YOU think?!
The only thing the manufactures in the media care about is selling a product. Period.
In fact did you know that things like bread are addictive? And when you stop eating them, you can have withdrawals.
So what do you need to do…
If you really care about dropping body fat… I’m not kidding, it will jump off of your body. Then you need to get grains out of your life.
Walk into your kitchen
Like a homing missile find all grains
*This includes bread, anything with wheat in it, rice, pasta, and oats
Open your trash can
Dump everything in your trash can
Take the trash out immediately
Now you need to put something in place of those grains. I mean, I’m not telling you to starve yourself here. You shouldn’t need to feel hungry, you just need to eat the right foods, period.
Head to the grocery store and buy all of the veggies that you like.
I know that the media doesn’t have commercials telling you how awesome vegetables are for you, but you’re just going to have to take my word on this one.
Vegetables are where it’s at. Oh, and don’t worry, this isn’t a vegetarian diet. Not at all. But for now, you need something to eat instead of the killer grains.
Before you jump off this page I should probably remind you why you’re here. YOU WANT TO LOSE BODY FAT! Well, this is going to do it, and do it fast.
Why will this work?
I think you should have some understanding of why what I’m telling you to do makes sense. The grains that you love, oh so much, are carbohydrates. There’s nothing wrong with carbohydrates, but you just don’t need them as a staple in your diet.
Carbohydrates are fuel for your muscles. Just the same as gas is the fuel for your car. Here’s the kicker… Would YOU put gas in your car if the tank was on full? Heck no you wouldn’t! So why in the world would you put carbohydrates in your body if you’re overweight, or not exercising like crazy?
Starchy, grainy carbohydrates are the reason you’re holding onto extra weight now. Trust me, it’s not the fat you’ve been eating that’s made you put on body fat. Fat is vital for far too many other processes in your body. You’re body need fat far more than it needs carbohydrates. In fact, carbohydrate aren’t even essential for you to live. But fats and protein are. True story!
Ok. Gotta get back on topic here.
So, your first step is to essentially replace all grains with vegetables.
Here are some examples:
Burgers with lettuce instead of buns
Salad instead of fries
*if you’re working out intensely, you can have sweet potato fries
Salads, salads, salads
Spinach
Red onions
Bacon
Hard boiled egg
Cheese
*this is such a good combo, it doesn’t even need dressing
Romain
White onion
Black olives
Ground turkey or beef seasoned with taco seasoning
Salsa
Cheese
Spinach
Tomato
Avocado
Feta
Olive oil
Vinaigrette
A quick word on ingredients
Make sure you ALWAYS read labels. There are a TON of cheeses out there that have grain products added to them. You will also find things like vinaigrette dressing with added sugars. You don’t want this.
Sugar
Just like grains, you can get addicted to the sugar spike, but if you stay away for a few months the cravings will go away. Just remember that emotions are a powerful thing, and foods can easily trigger emotions. What this means is, when you’re a month into your new lifestyle, looking good, feeling good, and someone offers you cake… DO NOT let it trigger a feel good emotion. Trust me, you will attempt to do this. But you have to create the new emotion (and association) of that cake (and other carbs) making you fat. Once you’ve created this negative emotion toward bad foods, you’re free.
