Are you the type of person that loves, hates, or is impartial about the Fall season..? Personally, I tend to dislike the fall. I’m not sure if it’s because it was the start of school or the coming of cold weather.
You LOVE Fall
If this you… you’re probably good to go. That is unless, it motivates you to drink Starbucks pumpkin lattes and fill your house with Halloween candies. Nobody should be doing this, ever!
So, if Fall motivates you to get outside and go on long bike rides (or runs) and enjoy the colors and changing of the seasons… You’re probably good to go.
But, if not, keep reading.
You hate Fall
If this is your bag, then you should keep reading, and probably take some notes.
For whatever reason, Fall can be a depressing, un-motivational time for some people (including me). Because of this, it’s very important to have some strategies to avoid that slippery slope.
Here’s where you can start!
Find an event for Fall/Winter
One of the most powerful things you can do is… find an event to train for in the coming months.
There isn’t much more motivational than having a race or competition that you (and your friends/family) know you’ve signed up for.
It’s actually public humiliation that is one of peoples biggest fears. So, try to use that to your advantage.
Because you should know that fear (or pain) is much more motivational than success (or pleasure) for the majority of people.
Some great event ideas are…
– Running race (marathon, 5k, 10k, or any other race 5k or longer).
– Fitness competition – for the record, this would be my favorite choice for you. Because it will potentially get you into the best shape.
– Biking race (road, mountain, or other).
– Obstacle course race – this could be a cold race depending on where you are located… But you could buy discount clonazepam online travel :-).
– Any other intense to semi intense physical performance event that will last you longer than 30 mins to complete.
Stick with a friend that loves the season
I talk a lot about how we are a combination of the 5 people that we spend the most time around. So, if you have a fitness minded, motivational friend, that’s looking to crush some activity in Fall, stick to their hip.
Just remember, this can work in the reverse if you tend to hang around people that are exactly like you are. Don’t do this! It has the potential to stagnate your growth, big time!
Find people to hang around that have strengths that are your weaknesses.
Plan a sunny vacation
Some of the smartest Satellites that I know plan sunny vacations for times of the year that have the potential for low motivation.
Even those of you that have kids in school… let the kids miss a Friday (or Monday) and get to the sun for a long weekend. The upside for a short vacation like this is HUGE!!!
And this would be even better if you traveled for a fitness event :-).
Fitness Motivated Conclusion
The smartest people plan for success, and don’t passively see what will happen. And they defiantly don’t expect change without meaningful actions.
Take one or all of these tips and have a fantastic Fall.
And note what worked so you can repeat it next year!
