Well, and the right running form. Your body is designed to be able to move for long periods of time, but unfortunately with our seated lifestyle we can mess up our naturally good form.
As of this writing/recording I have run 5 ultramarathons, 2 full Ironman’s, 1 half Ironman, 1 marathon, and several shorter races.
During the training for my ultramarathons, and Ironman’s I’ve used the traditional LSD (long slow distance) style of training, and the CrossFit Endurance style of training. The CrossFit Endurance is a short distance, high intensity style of training that has it’s positives and it’s negatives.
