This email is coming to you from Summit Lake WA, which is just outside of Olympia. And I think we witnessed the most intense fireworks show of our lives last night. Things got nuts!

I feel like it’s at least once a week that I run into someone telling me they aren’t sleeping well. Then, when we talk about their sleep hygiene there are some pretty glaring deficiencies (that can be easily solved).
So, here are some reasons (health, energy, disease prevention, etc) to sleep better, and tips to easy improve your sleep.

Strange observation –
My resting heart rate and HRV
While in Israel and Italy (almost to the day) my resting heart rate was lower and my HRV (heart rate variability) was higher than before leaving the States, and since being back in the States (according to Whoop data).
A lot of people might just write this off to being on vacation, BUT my lifestyle didn’t change from #vanlife. And in fact, my work was more stressful while overseas because the internet was so poor, and yes, I continued to work the whole time.
A couple of our theories are… that our food in the US is that much worse due to legal preservatives (that are illegal to use in other countries due to harmful effects), and/or that we averaged over 10 miles of walking/running per day.
Because we can test the walking/running theory, we will. So, I’ll be sure to keep you posted if you should be getting your steps ups, or if we all should move to Europe.
