AAJ 250: Why I won’t be going back to my gym anytime so
I’m seeing a lot of people running back to their gyms right now, and I won’t be doing the same. I do think you should try to keep supporting your local gyms if you can, but waiting to see what happens for a few weeks/months before jumping into a heavy breathing situation with strangers. 🙂
My favorite workout tool right now –
The Rogue Fitness Strongman Sandbags
We have a 100 and 150 pound versions of these, and if you haven’t seen them, they are round (or nugget shaped) with no handles.
These are sooooo good for heavy odd object work including squats, cleans, deadlifts, and so much more.
Oh, and they are less than $100 including sand (unless you go with 200lbs or more).
Thought that I’m pondering –
Focus is everything
Yeah, you might not have slept well, or you had some unfortunate news, or it’s raining outside, or you’re super tired. And all of those things aren’t ideal. But you are incredibly powerful, and can change your focus to something that’s positive and makes you feel good.
All I’m saying (and what I’m working on myself) is identifying when you’re not focusing on the positive things around you, that’s the first step, then see if you can change your focus.
Once you’ve identified your focus isn’t in the ideal place try thinking/focusing on something that makes you feel happy. Maybe a good friend, or dog, or grandchild, or car, or cool place that you’re in, or adventure you’ve had, or adventure you’re going to have.
We all have this power of focus, and sometimes we forget about how powerful it is, or get rusty at using it. But it’s there, and we can all make it happen!
