This email is coming to you from a Starbucks in Redmond Oregon, where the internet is performing vastly under what the speed test indicates.
In a couple hours we are headed to Bend Oregon for a week of getting dirty on the mountain bike trails. 🙂
Here’s what I found fun, interesting or noteworthy this week.

Course I’ve been loving –
Ryan Leech Online Mountain Biking Skills Coaching
I have self imposed rules for my life, and one of them is to do everything that I do as well as I can. So, if I’m spending time mountain biking, I want to learn how to do it to the top of my ability.
One skill that I LOVE doing on my mountain bike is jumping, but it’s also the single scariest thing that I do while mountain biking. So, I MUST get better at it, and this skills coaching is teaching me how to Get Better every time I hit a jump.
I highly recommend it if you’re into mountain biking. Even if you don’t want to get into jumping. They do balance, cornering, and general MTB skills.
Two things that have recently made me leaner and more energized –
Eating more carbs and taking a high quality multi vitamin
As long as you’re eating enough protein (which almost everyone that I start working with is NOT), it’s always surprising to me how increasing high quality carbs and decreasing fat leans people up like crazy. Way faster than even I expect.
And, of course, you need to have the element of a high intensity training program done at least 4 times a week. But this higher than what we might think carb intake works like gang busters. And it surprises even me when I tend to slip into eating too many fats from time to time.
Then, having the multi vitamin is just like having insurance for the things that we probably aren’t getting in our “well rounded” food intake. It just helps everything work better.
Step 1 – do a high intensity workout program at least 4 times a week
Step 2 – eat enough protein
Step 3 – eat enough carbs and not too much fat (it’s easy in our world to get too much fat)
Step 4 – take a high quality multi vitamin for insurance

That’s what I have for you this week. If you need anything at all, please let me know!
Cheers!
