If you’re training hard — whether it’s CrossFit, mountain biking, or any other high-intensity sport — recovery matters. I tested Unbroken RTR, a recovery supplement I discovered at the CrossFit Games, to see how it stacked up against my usual Perfect Amino from BodyHealth.
What follows is a 4-week real-world test comparing both supplements using data from my Whoop wearable — including recovery scores, HRV, sleep performance, and strain. Spoiler alert: one supplement came out clearly on top.

Why I Tested Unbroken RTR
At the CrossFit Games, Unbroken was hyping their RTR supplement as the best recovery product on the market. And hey — if it’s safe and might help my readers or me perform better, I’ll test it.
After a few emails back and forth, Unbroken sent me a 1-month supply to put head-to-head against Perfect Amino, which I’ve taken daily for years.

What About Diet?
No major diet changes. If you want to see what I typically eat during training weeks, check out this podcast/post where I break it down. I stay consistent with my nutrition when testing supplements like this.
Final Thoughts: Is Unbroken RTR Worth It?
If you want to train hard, recover better, and maybe even sleep a bit deeper — Unbroken RTR is absolutely worth a try.
Compared to my long-time favorite Perfect Amino, I:
- Had better HRV and recovery scores
- Maintained more intense training
- Slept just as well — maybe even better
? My Verdict:
Unbroken RTR wins as the more effective recovery supplement in my real-world test.
