– Eat fat and protein before eating carbs. This will make you feel more full faster and could also lower the impact (glycemic index) of the carbs.
– Take a drink of water after every bite and swallow of food. This will make you feel full faster, and more satisfied.
– Drink .5 to .75 ounces of water per pound of ideal body weight. This will make you feel better, more energized, burn fat, and help with all bodily functions.
– Be a master of your fullness state – Figure out what fullness is to you. If you’ve been very active… eat until you’re more full. If you have not been active… only eat until you can feel fullness setting in.
– Chew your food until it’s almost liquid. Extra chewing will help with digestion, utilization of nutrients, and satiety.
– Workout more. If you want to get leaner… chances are you need to workout more than you are now. That could mean going from 1-2 Get Better Project workouts per week to 4-5. Or if you’re already doing 4-5 Get Better Project workouts a week, then it could mean adding a couple conditioning sessions to the opposite end of the day that you’re already working out.
– Lift heavy ass weights. If you want to be in your best shape possible… you need to have some part of your training to lift heavy (or perceived heavy) weights. So lift really heave 1-2 days a week OR use tempo/explosive training to make your body think it’s lifting heavy weights/things.
Getting into super lean, awesome shape isn’t rocket science. And it’s really something that we all should know how to do.
