In this Feel Good Friday I talk about – Fasting – Rogue – Greg Glassman
As I write this I’m on day 5 of the 5 day Fasting Mimicking Diet, and feel great (see below for more about this experience). And I’m sitting in the living room looking out onto Lake Chelan. Things are good!
Here’s what I found fun, interesting, or noteworthy this week…
My latest podcast –
AAJ 253: Fun Fitness Facts and an At-Home Challenge for You
I was recently asked to be a special guest on a high performer real estate webinar to talk about at-home exercise that could help your mental and physical performance. They also asked me to share some fun fitness facts to get people intrigued.
And the webinar went so well that I decided to do the same talk for you via audio/video podcast. Enjoy!
My thoughts about fasting –
It’s the 3rd time that we’ve put ourselves through this torture, and I have to say that each time it gets better. I use the word better rather than easier because I actually feel amazing right now, and have for the last 2 days.
Not only that but both Emily and I have seen drastic improvements in our HRV (heart rate variability) and resting heart rate. Which are two big positive fitness indicators/metrics.
On the Fasting Mimicking Diet (by Prolon) we eat about 1100 calories on the first day and about 800 calories on the rest of the days. And the foods are designed to mimic and actually improve the results of a water only fast.
The benefits of doing this fast are many, and can be found here.
What I’m excited about watching –
The Rogue Fitness Invitational
This is the first live online fitness event since we’ve started staying away from each other.
Some of the best athletes in the world will be competing, and I’m very invested to see how they will handle the live stream from different people all over the world. Yep, every athlete is in their own gym with a live feed to their performance. It will be interesting.
If you think this sounds fun… it will be live streaming June 13th and 14th at this link.
My thoughts on racism and CrossFit –
I’ve been really quit on these topics because I feel like everyone should already know my stance, and if you don’t… you don’t know me.
But just so we are clear…
I don’t believe in racism or condone any racist activity. Period.
And, I don’t agree (at all) with Greg Glassman’s comments, but do believe that CrossFit is much bigger than one person. So although I’m not affiliated with CrossFit anymore, it has drastically changed my life for the better, and I’ll continue to support the people associated with CrossFit that I believe are amazing humans.
If you have any thoughts on these topics I would be happy to discus them with you.

That’s what I have for you this week. If you need anything at all just let me know, and I’ll do my best to support you.
Cheers!
