Happy Friday! This email is coming to you from freezing cold Steamboat Springs Colorado, where we woke up to -14 degrees F.
And I thought last week it got cold.
The nice thing is that it’s been very sunny everyday. The not so nice thing is that it hasn’t snowed in weeks and there’s no snow in the forecast.
If it wasn’t a 12 hour drive…. I’d say we should shoot down to Phoenix to wait out this dry spell.

This week in van life –
Like I mentioned above, we’ve had an interesting week that included some snowboarding, great food, and lots of cold weather!
What I’m eating –
The best sandwiches I’ve eaten at the Yampa Sandwich Co! Their Turkey Ridgeline (with sourdough) is literally one of the best sandwiches that has ever hit my tongue! I know, I know, I’ve mentioned this place before, but it’s so darn good!
Best everyday backpack –
I’ve been using Alpha One Niner Evade 1.5 since last Spring, and this thing is dynamite! The best everyday backpack that I’ve used. Checkout my whole review here.
What I’m stoked about –
Even if we aren’t getting any chest deep champagne powder (or any inches of powder for that matter)… We are in one of the prettiest places that we’ve traveled to in our van lifing. AND Emily and I got a couples month membership at the local gym, which includes a CrossFit’ish area, heated outdoor lap pool, and hot springs, all for less than we would pay for a single (1 person) month of CrossFit in Seattle. Yeehaw!!!
So we are going to get extra super fit with all the time we aren’t snowboarding 😉
