Being able to sleep better will help you get more out of life. Nothing is worse than trying to work and enjoy days out while feeling tired. Fatigue can get the best of us and damage our health.
It’s crucial to prioritize sleep if you want to lead a healthier and happier life. Here, you can discover the top tricks that will help you enhance your sleeping pattern and reap the benefits of a well-rested body and mind.
Try hemp and CBD
Many natural ingredients are great for improving sleep.
You can use premium Hemp & CBD to help promote relaxation and find it easier to fall asleep each night. While warm showers and bedtime meditation can help, hemp and CBD are great for relaxation. An extra step in your nighttime routine will do wonders for your sleeping pattern.
Avoid digital screens 60 minutes before bed
Going on your phone or watching TV before bed isn’t great if you want to achieve a healthier sleeping pattern.
Blue lights can wake up our brains, making it more challenging to fall asleep. Avoiding digital screens for at least 60 minutes before bed will help you fall asleep more easily.
Open the window coverings as soon as you wake up
Opposingly, your brain needs plenty of light when you wake up (not the digital screen type).
Opening the window coverings first thing in the morning will provide you with the light your brain needs to wake up and feel energized.
Avoid caffeine after 2 pm
Caffeine is best to drink mid-morning and early afternoon. Drinking it too early can spike cortisol levels while drinking it too late can hinder your ability to sleep.
Try to avoid caffeine after 2 pm if you want to improve your sleeping pattern.
*If you are hyper sensitive to caffeine you should set your cut off time even earlier. I personally have found that my sleep is best if I stop consuming caffeine after 12 pm.
Don’t nap for too long during the day
While daytime naps might feel necessary if you are tired, try to make them short. A 20 to 30-minute nap is best for energy and to ensure you can fall asleep easily that day.
Mid-morning and early afternoon naps are fine. Avoid napping in the evening, as you might not manage to sleep well. Short and early naps are good for you, so make sure to set an alarm.
Go to bed at the same time each night
The likelihood of waking up at the same time daily is high. Most of us wake up at similar times to head to work or fulfill other life commitments.
The best thing you can do to complement your morning wake cycle is to achieve a balanced sleep cycle. Heading to bed at the same time each night will help you achieve the amount of sleep you need. If you know you need to wake up at 6 am, head to bed at 9 pm to aim for 8 hours of sleep (if you manage to fall asleep in an hour).
You will know how easily you can fall asleep. So, head to bed at a good time to allow plenty of sleep.
