Some of the best vacations that I’ve ever been on have been focused on training. This trip has had a heavy emphasis on swimming, biking and CrossFit. Today started with a pool workout. We met at the pool around 8:30am for an hour of drill work followed by this interval workout:
25 y
50 y
75 y
100 y
100 y
75 y
50 y
25 y
These were all out effort with enough rest between efforts to let your breathing return to normal.
After spending time to learn how to lengthen myself in the water and appear more like a ballerina the interval part of the workout was great! It’s amazing how much faster you can move in the water by correcting your form and decreasing your effort.
When the swim was finished I grabbed a handful of nuts, a Lara Bar, and my bike :-). Then we headed out for an hour long bike ride near the hotel/resort (Arizona Biltmore). The neighborhood that we were riding in had some amazing houses! These houses were HUGE and all had different kinds of architecture. The weird thing was they were all right next to each other. We’re talking multimillionaire dollar houses that were only a few yards away from each other. When I buy a house that big it will not be right next to another house.
For dinner we went to this amazing restaurant called Rokerij. It was a TexMex place in Phoenix that was off the hook! Everything we ate was great! If you’re in the area you should definitely check it out!
Day 3 was a major success and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for tomorrow!
