Hey this is Joe checking in. I just wanted to give everybody a quick update I had my 50 K. race at bear Mountain in New York last Saturday and everything went great, it was an awesome race, and there should be some pictures in this post of the race so you can see what it looked like. It was a really great day! We did get some thunder showers for maybe half an hour which wasn’t too bad, but the weather was great other than that. The race was put on by the north face and turned out to be a great event. I would recommend anybody that’s looking for an outdoor trail race to look them up. They have the endurance challenges all over the country. I had the race set up to be my longest training run in prep for the 50 miler that I’m running on June 5th. This course at Bear Mountain turned out to be very difficult because of the major elevation changes as well as rocky conditions, and because you’re running through river beds that are dried up, or actually have water running through them your footing is all over the place. After the race I took Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday off, and returned to running on Wednesday. Wednesday turned out to be a
great run! My body felt like it learned things from the race, and was moving more efficiently. It felt like I was lighter, and everything just felt great! I have a 24 miles training run planned for Saturday so everything is looking great for the 50 miler! I hope you guys are enjoying my blogging while in pursuit of my first 50 mile off road ultra Marathon which will be in DC. Right now I’m just a few weeks away from the 50 mile race, and I’m starting to get excited for the event. If my writing sounds funny it’s because I created this blog post using dragon dictation on my iPhone. Keep on running and keep checking back in at allaroundjoe.com. Thanks!
