As the milage of my running has gone up surprisingly so has my strength in the weight room. Today my back workout routine was very intense, and I’m already feeling a little sore only a few hours after. Here’s a list of the exercises that I performed:
- Bent over barbell rows
- Lat pull downs
- Hammer Strength high rows
- Cable rows
- Hammer Strength low rows
- Machine shrugs
- Hyperextensions
At this point in my resistance training I’m starting to lower the volume and increase the intensity, but with back days I’m keeping the volume high because I’m still learning how to contract my back efficiently. I might take the volume down as I get closer to the race, but that will depend on my energy levels which right now are great!
